Minister Lorca: There are 7 arrested for the arson in the Henri Pittier National Park

The Minister of Popular Power for Ecosocialism, Josué Lorca, reported that so far the security forces have arrested seven people for the arson in the Henri Pittier National Park, in the state of Aragua and invited the population to file a complaint through the 1x10 Good Governance System to protect forests.

“In Aragua there are seven detainees, in Mérida there are five detainees, all of them are under the command of the Public Ministry, so that due process is carried out and legal regulations are complied with,” he said.

This was stated by Lorca, during a telephone contact with Venezolana de Televisión, in which he highlighted the importance of the People's Social Comptroller's Office, “most of the detainees in the state of Aragua have been burned to start some kind of agricultural expansion or some pyromaniacs, who every year dedicate themselves to lighting candles to the hills.”

In this regard, Lorca invited the People “to denounce, let us be very attentive and alert, through the 1x10 of Good Government, the 0800AMBIENTE, the telephone numbers of the different governorates and mayors”.

“We are here to do the job, but we also need the support of the public conscience, in the complaint and, of course, in protecting and not setting fire to the forests,” he stressed.

The minister also reported that they are deployed in the Henri Pittier National Park, fighting the fire that has had 2 restart points due to the wind, but which is already contained, with Operation Rain.

He also invited the seasonal workers to take security measures necessary for the return within the framework of the Major Week and stressed that the Bolivarian Government is guaranteeing the enjoyment of the people.
