The Minister of Popular Power for Food, Carlos Leal Telleria, stressed that the Venezuela Alimenta Plan will articulate the communal economy, science and innovation and an efficient logistics system to guarantee a “healthy, tasty, safe and sovereign” diet for all the Venezuelan people.

From Baruta in Miranda state, the Minister stressed that the Plan seeks to establish a comprehensive strategy aimed at transforming the national agri-food system and leading the country towards a historic goal: zero nutritional vulnerability.

He stressed that through the organization and engagement of all productive actors, the State will continue to guarantee the supply of sufficient, timely and affordable food for Venezuelan families.

“Through an organized organization of all the actors, we can continue to provide sufficient and timely food to our people, always oriented to access at affordable prices,” said Minister Leal Telleria

He also emphasized that this productive engine will be strongly supported by an upcoming legal framework: “One of the most important vertices is the communal and local economy, which is being strengthened with a bill that will practically mesh and consolidate the great capacity of local production, peasant agriculture, small producers and, above all, communal production,” he explained.

In addition to addressing strategic areas such as research, innovation and agricultural development, combining scientific advances with the ancestral knowledge of communities.

“We have come from a lot of hard work, from many victories and achievements in the agri-food sector. Now we are pursuing a very ambitious goal, but we are able to raise this level so that our country is definitely certified as a nation free of hunger; a country where everyone is guaranteed their right to a healthy, tasty, safe and sovereign diet,” he said.
