The sector vice-president of Science, Technology, Ecosocialism and Health, Isabel Iturria, reported that this year twice as many dogs and cats have been vaccinated free of charge with vaccines provided by the Bolivarian Government.

During an interview with Venezolana de Televisión, she pointed out that “we have a very beautiful digital experience, which is canine and feline rabies vaccination; this year we have made a very important effort to increase environmental health.”

He also indicated that these vaccination days have been carried out hand in hand with the Nevado Mission and that since June all immunized pets have been incorporated into an automated rabies vaccination system, where they are directly linked to the identity card number of the guardian or person responsible for the animal.

He indicated that this digital platform will facilitate long-term planning. “For next year we will have the data on the dogs, where they are located by parish, municipality, guardian number,” he said.

He also noted that if a pet bites a person, medical health teams will be able to immediately verify in the system the date of vaccination and whether or not they are vaccinated.
