Minister for Water inspected the progress of water works in Mérida

The Minister of Popular Power for Water, G/D Rodolfo Marco Torres, inspected together with the governor of the state of Mérida, Jehyson Guzmán, the various water works being carried out in the Andean region hand in hand with the People's Power.

In this regard, Marco Torres indicated that “extraordinary work was done between the community, Aguas de Mérida, MinAguas and the government” in the rehabilitation work of the Tucaní aqueduct, in the municipality of Caracciolo Parra and Olmedo, in which "two kilometers of 20-inch HDPE pipe were installed, all the catchment was recovered and the desalinators

In addition, Governor Jehyson Guzmán said that the Caña Brava, La Roncona and Cacique catchment dams are being recovered, which were affected by heavy rains.

In this regard, the head of UBCH, Jhon Salamanca, said that “a great job has been done on the desander, but there is a high level of turbidity in the catchment that makes it impossible to bring water to houses, it is not a technical problem but a natural problem”.

In addition, in the Alberto Adriani municipality, they supervised the comprehensive rehabilitation of the Mucujepe water treatment plant in El Vigía and the Los Pozones well field, increasing water production to a thousand liters per second for the benefit of the inhabitants of this jurisdiction. In addition to the work on the Iberia pumping station, located in the Los Olivos sector, which benefits 24,000 inhabitants.
