The Minister of Popular Power for Tourism, Daniella Cabello, accompanied by the governor of the state of Nueva Esparta, Marisel Velásquez, reported 40% technical progress in the works of the Pampatar Tourist Pier, located in the Maneiro municipality of this entity, whose final delivery is scheduled for the month of September of this year.
Port infrastructure seeks to energize the local economy by facilitating maritime connectivity, trade and the flow of national and international visitors.
According to the authorities, the reactivation of this pier will benefit hotel and gastronomic activity in the area, directly impacting artisanal fishermen and small and medium-sized entrepreneurs in the entity.
The civil and technological adjustments under way seek to ensure safe and efficient operations to transform Pampatar into a reference point for nautical and cruise tourism in the Caribbean.
In addition to the embarkation and disembarkation areas, the project includes spaces for artisanal exhibition and visitor service, which will generate direct and indirect jobs on Margarita Island.
Minister Cabello stressed that the work is part of strategic policies to strengthen the region's productive capacities.
