Minister Ceballos highlights the work of SNGR officials during 2023

During 2023, officials from the bodies of the National Risk Management System (SNGR) were deployed to respond to various calls to ensure the protection of citizens.

In response to civil emergencies, 96,641 ambulance transfers were carried out; 96,500 paramedical services; 82 immersion rescues; 1,111 rescues of people; in turn, 12,854 fires were controlled; actions that demonstrate the work of fire departments in the country, reported A/J Remigio Ceballos Ichaso, Minister of People's Power for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace (MPPRIJP).

He also highlighted the work of the GJ Simón Bolívar Humanitarian Task Force, which went abroad six times to provide technical and civil protection assistance during the seismic events that occurred in Syria and Turkey, as well as the forest fires in Chile and Bolivia, according to a press release from the MPPRIJP.

In the same way, he announced that 100 AURORA stations of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (INAMEH) were installed as part of the Early Warning System (...) “This year we had significant effects due to rains, an effect of climate change, so 12 states were treated due to direct effects in this meteorological period,” said Ceballos.

On the other hand, the Minister highlighted that in 2023, 71,560 new professionals graduated from the National Experimental Security University (UNES) in various training programs such as Police Service, Criminal Investigation, Criminalistics, Fire Sciences, Civil Protection and Emergency Management, among others.

He also highlighted the creation of National Training Programs in Criminology and Structural Fire Safety Engineering.

“The consolidation of peace, the direct fight against crime, respect for human rights and the guarantee of the dignity of the person is a fundamental element for the development and maintenance of the welfare state of our people (...) let us move in that direction tirelessly”, concluded the Chief Admiral.
