The Minister of Popular Power for Sports, Franklin Cardillo, praised this Monday the participation of the Venezuelan delegation in the XIII South American Games Santa Fe 2026, as part of the Olympic cycle.

“A historic participation of our country in the South American Games, obtaining the highest number of medals in the last three Olympic cycles,” Cardillo said during the ceremony of recognition of Venezuelan athletes by President Delcy Rodríguez.

He stressed that “all this tells us that we are on a very good path. The Los Angeles Plan has outlined the 4-year work of the national and international competitive system. They have been carrying out this whole process and in each of them we have been increasing the number of medals, the result of medals,” he emphasized.

He indicated, with regard to the tactical and strategic aspects, that the results in the editions of the last three Olympic cycles, Venezuela stood out in 10 or 12 sports. “This time, 36 sports won medals. That speaks very well of the work of new sports,” he stressed.
