The Minister for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, warned the former presidents who make up the Democratic Initiative of Spain and the Americas (IDEA Group), who said that they will come to Venezuela to accompany Edmundo González, that they will be treated as invaders and will be arrested and brought to the order of the Venezuelan justice system.

“Nobody is inviting them, their presence here indicates an invasion of Venezuela,” Cabello said during a press conference.

He assured that these are very discredited characters, they are former presidents who mostly have files for acts of corruption or links to drug trafficking.

“None of these former presidents have the morals to meddle in Venezuela's internal affairs, the vast majority of them are criminals,” he said.

He said that Venezuela is respected. “We're going to make her respect, don't have any doubts about that.”

The minister asserted that those who attempt to generate acts of violence and destabilization assume their responsibility, at the same time adding that the response will be decisive and in accordance with the action they take. “They're not going to have any more desire to attack our people,” he added.

He recalled that the extreme right always acts the same way. In that regard, he recommended that parents talk to their children so that they don't fall into misleading offers. “The detainees of July 29 were left alone, they didn't worry about them or their family; they abandoned them, that's the same way they operate.”

Cabello confirmed that on January 10, Nicolás Maduro, took office as the Presidency of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, as established by the Constitution.
