After the arrival of 178 deported compatriots from the United States, the Vice President of Politics, Citizen Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, said that what Venezuelan migrants experienced “has not been easy” and recalled that they have been victims of manipulation and stigmatization by opposition extremism.

“What they have experienced is not easy, first they were manipulated so that they will cross the Darién and now they are persecuted and stigmatized as criminals,” he said while recalling that this campaign has been promoted by figures of opposition extremism such as María Corina Machado, Leopoldo López, David Smolansky, Carlos Paparon and others.

“The whole narrative of the opposition sectors of Venezuela, who did the whole plot to get these Venezuelans to leave and now the stigmatization came (...) their spokespersons have tired of saying now that they are criminals and criminals,” he said.

He recalled that currently as a result of this campaign, in addition to being persecuted on U.S. territory, a group of Venezuelans are being kidnapped by the Salvadoran government of Nayib Bukele with the endorsement of the U.S. administration.

“The United States maintains a group of Venezuelans kidnapped in El Salvador by the Bukele government,” he denounced and emphasized that the Venezuelan Government continues to activate all the necessary mechanisms to achieve the release of these compatriots.
