Minister Cabello announced the arrival at Vuelta a la Patria of Leonel Moreno alias “Leito”

The vice-president of the Politics, Public Security and Peace sector, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, announced the arrival to the country through the Mission Back to the Homeland of Leonel Moreno, known as “Leito”, who was arrested in the United States for a minor crime.

“Leonel Moreno is on the list of those who come there and he will go through the same procedure as everyone else, now, what happens with that gentleman is that many of the people who came on the flight were upset with him, because his campaign was for Venezuelans to be singled out in the world as criminals, so from the outset special security had to be prepared for his transfer, they set him aside because the other passengers were very upset,” said the minister also for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace.

The senior official characterized repatriation as an opportunity for compatriots to escape adverse conditions abroad.

“Today this is a new group, far from violence, away from evil, away from all persecution, far from the repression applied in the United States, far from the persecution applied to citizens just because they are Venezuelans, so he hopes that now those who did not behave properly will go to their homes to be cured with the support of family and friends,” he said.
