This Friday, February 2
, the Minister of Popular Power for Communes and Social Movements,
Jorge Arreaza, stressed that the Bolivarian Revolution has gone through very marked stages in these 25 years
, but always with the burning flare of Commander
Hugo Chávez and the historical continuity of a project that has remained a popular victory in the face of aggression.
In that sense,
he indicated that the Revolution in Venezuela began with El Caracazo, when the people
rose up in protests against the neoliberal policies of the time. “And after
the military rebellion of 1992, he came to power in 1999, on February 2,
and the first thing that came was the constituent phase, in which Commander Chávez
called on the people to refound and reconstitute the Republic,” he said.
He stressed that this
call from the Commander was extremely successful and proof of this was the new
Constitution, which represented a great advance for the Fatherland. In addition, he added
that this produced the reaction of the bourgeoisie that governed the country for years.
He also indicated
that after the 2004 victory in the Referendum, came the beginning of the process of socialist construction
. “With social missions paying off historic debts, doing
things beyond the formal structure of the State and of course the people
organizing themselves in the territory, communal councils (...) the People organizing to assume power
in their territory (...) and the recovery of oil,” he said.
He added that later
came a difficult period with Commander Chávez's illness. “And we are entering the
second great phase of the Revolution, which is the post-Commander government (...) the
government of President (Nicolás) Maduro”, who maintains the “flare of the Commander,
his historic project, the Plan of the Fatherland and that is why he was attacked from day one
from the imperial corporate centers of the world (...) hence
the period of resistance, but in advance, in offensive, because continued
with the fundamental policies of the Homeland Plan, despite the problems”.
Meanwhile, he stressed
that now when the Revolution reaches its 25th anniversary, the National President has
called for the 7 transformations of the country and for continuing to give power to the People.
“The President has been very insistent on the need to organize
Pueblo politically, socially and economically and for all national
policies to be landed in communal councils, communes, missions and major
missions,” he said.
“These are marked stages, but they attest to a historical continuity, the continuity of a project and a popular victory in the face of all internal and international aggressions, ” he said.
