A total of 209 girls and boys from five preschoolers in the municipality of Campo Elías, in the metropolitan area of the state of Mérida, enjoyed a day of scientific dissemination and educational recreation organized by the Francisco J. Duarte Research Center Foundation for Astronomy and Applied Technologies (CIDATA).
The activity, carried out at the facilities of the Febres Cordero preschool as part of the territorialization deployment of the National Scientific Seed Program and in connection with the celebration of the month of Initial Education in Venezuela, allowed the specialized staff of CIDATA to bring astronomy and space sciences closer to children through playful experiences adapted to their ages.
During the meeting, according to a press release, the infants interacted and learned about the solar system through the astrobus, explored the mysteries of the Moon through a theater and learned about the basic principles of operating a rocket with practical demonstrations full of learning and wonder.
In this regard, the president of the institution attached to the Ministry of Science and Technology (MINCYT), Dr. Walter Espinoza, highlighted the impact of these training actions on the homeland's seedbed.
“It fills us at CIDATA with joy to see so many boys and girls laughing, enjoying these activities, while learning about astronomy, about technology; actions that strengthen the National Scientific Seedbeds Program, since interest in science is being encouraged from an early age,” he said.
