The Plan Vuelta a la Patria succeeded in rescuing a group of Venezuelans deported from the United States, thanks to the efforts of the Bolivarian Government and the nationalist government of Honduras that received these migrants, who, once boarded the CONVIASA plane, recounted the harassment and abuse of which they were victims while in detention in the United States.

“The treatment is very denigrating, right there in the tents they broke into us to take my ID card, money and phone,” said a migrant identified as Anthony. Another emphasized the aggressive treatment against him that has left him “psychological, emotional, physical trauma, due to the mistreatment and the conditions of the facilities, the transfers, treatment, damage to health and how they violated our rights”.

In videos released on social networks, they show the hundreds of Venezuelan migrants visibly excited as they boarded the aircraft, at which point they spontaneously sang the notes of the national anthem. During the boarding process, the returnees also received a message from President Nicolás Maduro.

The Plan Back to the Homeland, implemented by the Bolivarian Government, has intensified its operations in recent weeks, while the United States has increased the number of deportation of Venezuelan migrants to maximum-security prisons in El Salvador, without trial or prior conviction. These citizens, for the most part, have no debts to justice.
