Mexico: Claudia Sheinbaum celebrated victory in the presidential elections

This Monday, the official candidate, Claudia Sheinbaum, thanked in the first few minutes the millions of Mexicans who voted for her to become “the first female president of Mexico”, in her more than 200 years of republican history.

The National Electoral Institute (INE) confirmed that the official results of the elections held on Sunday irreversibly favor him, Sheinbaum issued a speech to celebrate his victory.

The nominee of the National Regeneration Movement (Morena), Labor and Green parties, reported that her two opponents in the elections recognized her victory.

The president of the INE, Guadalupe Taddei, indicated that Sheinbaum obtained between 58.3 percent and 60.7 percent of the valid votes cast in the elections, according to a quick count prepared by the agency.

Gálvez, meanwhile, won between 26.6 percent and 28.6 percent of the votes, while Álvarez Máynez received between 9.9 percent and 10.8 percent of the votes, according to the same official sample.
