MEP condemns hypocrisy of the head of the European Commission on Gaza

Irish Sinn Féin MEP for Dublin, Lynn Boylan, criticizes the head of the European Commission (EC), Ursula Von der Leyen, for not confronting Israel, which is perpetrating a genocidal war in Gaza.

Boylan, was the only Irish representative who spoke in the debate on the re-election of Von der Leyen as president of the Commission.

“Why are human rights applicable in some conflicts, but not in others? Why are the lives of Palestinians not worthy of the same human rights, of the same international law, of the same humanity?” , he questioned.

The MEP also stressed that there have been no sanctions or suspension of trade with the Israeli regime for its atrocities in Gaza. “Forty thousand civilians have been killed. Children have been burned alive in their tents and yet there have been no consequences
