The Prime Minister of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Ralph Gonsalves, confirmed in a letter the meeting facilitated by the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) and the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) between Presidents Irfaan Ali and Nicolás Maduro, to assess the possible consequences of the border controversy between the Cooperative Republic of Guyana and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

According to Gonsalves, this meeting will be held under the auspices of CELAC and CARICOM, whose representatives requested the presence of the President of the Federative Republic of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

The date of this meeting was tentatively set for Thursday, December 14, 2023, at 10:00am, in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
