The mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, inaugurated a situation room for monitoring waste collection in the capital city.
From her account on the social network Instagram, the burgomaster explained that this is a space for monitoring the collection of solid waste and the care of the environment in Caracas. From there, accurate information will be managed to optimize the maintenance and beautification of the capital city.
The day, as reported by the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN), was attended by the Minister for Ecosocialism Josué Lorca, who also delivered a new batch of equipment for waste collection.
These are containers, bins and supplies for the collection of solid waste, which were delivered by the ministerial portfolio for the plan to strengthen companies such as SuprAccs.
Lorca noted that three years ago 1,200 tons of solid waste were collected every day in Caracas and today the collection has risen to 1,720 tons, reaching 2,000 tons in December.
“We are working together to maintain the campaign The New Face of Consciousness so that waste goes from being a problem to a strength,” he concluded.
