María Concepción Palacios y Blanco: Example of dedication, love and dedication (+Christmas)

On December 9, 1758, María de la Concepción Palacios y Blanco was born in Caracas, mother of our Liberator Simon Bolivar, a lover of music and painting, a woman of careful education, who dedicated her life to the family.
At fifteen years of age, she married Juan Vicente Bolívar y Ponte, who died prematurely when they had been married for just 13 years, a death that Doña María de la Concepción faced with the dual responsibility of educating her four young children and the proper administration of the assets bequeathed by her late husband.
In the zeal, austerity and consecration she dedicated to fulfilling these duties is undoubtedly the moral portrait of a midwife with temperate customs, with a deep religious and family sense, fully dedicated to her obligations as head of the family.
The remains of El Libertador's parents, as well as those of his wife and some other relatives rest in the Trinity Chapel in the Cathedral of Caracas. A monument by the noted Italian sculptor Vittorio Macho marks the place where they sleep.
