Venezuelan parathlete Marcos Blanco won the bronze medal Thursday after beating Indonesian Junaedi, in the match for third place in the men's Parajudo J1 -60 kg, at the Paralympic Games in Paris 2024.

The fight, dominated by Marcos from the start, ended when the Venezuelan added an ippon when he executed a Sumi-otoshi at the minute and fifty-seven seconds, a result with which the Venezuelan parathlete surpassed his participation in Tokyo 2020, where he won an Olympic diploma.

After the award ceremony, Blanco said he was grateful for the medal won. “I'm happy, thank God I achieved the goal and I was able to get the bronze medal,” sports media quote.

With this, the Venezuelan delegation reaches four medals at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, after those won by Lisbeli Vera (silver), Enderson Santos (gold) and Clara Fuentes (gold).
