Man deprived of liberty for sexual abuse of his aunt

The man was arrested in flagrante delicto

The 2nd Court for Control, Hearings and Measures on Violence against Women in the state of Mérida issued a measure of deprivation of liberty against a 25-year-old man for his alleged responsibility for sexual violence against his 57-year-old aunt.

According to a press release from the Public Ministry (MP), the incident occurred on May 22 in Cerro Portachuelo; located in the Santo Niño sector of the La Mesa parish, belonging to the Campo Elías municipality of the state of Mérida.

According to the investigation, during that date, the Municipal Police of Ejido went to the victim's residence after receiving a complaint of sexual assault. The woman said that her nephew forcibly entered her home, violently subdued her, committed the act against her will and then fled the site.

The aggrieved woman was immediately taken to the Dr. César Augusto Ruiz outpatient clinic in Ejido, where she underwent the respective medical evaluation that confirmed that she had been raped. Immediately, a police commission went to the Manzano Alto sector, where Díaz was arrested in flagrante delicto and placed under the command of the MP.

During the presentation hearing, the 20th Public Prosecutor's Office of Mérida charged Díaz with the alleged commission of aggravated sexual violence.
