In the Punto de Fuga room
of the Caracas Armando Reverón Museum of Contemporary Art (MACCAR), the exhibition
“Family Album” was inaugurated by the visual artist Jorge Ignacio Medina, who prepared his
work, taking and scanning the albums and family photos he had in his house,
making an apology for the survival of memory.
According to information from the
Ministry for Culture, Medina, through her works, rescues and transforms family
photographs, giving them a new life in the present. This creative
process allows her to reconstruct her past and redefine her identity within
the family.
The artist also stated that the
exhibition took four years to assemble and that the room where it is located was
decorated in the style of a house to match the theme.
The National Museums Foundation extended the invitation to visit the “Family Album” exhibition and participate in the different activities that will take place in the spaces of the MACCAR in connection with this artistic exhibition.
