The Board of Directors of the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP) categorically rejected any aggression or threat that comes from any person or entity against members of the LVBP.

The LVBP issued a statement rejecting the events that occurred in the game held in the city of Valencia, on December 4, 2023, between the Tiburones de La Guaira and Navegantes del Magallanes teams, and in relation to audios broadcast on social networks showing threats issued by a person outside the development of the LVBP, against the player Nivaldo Rodríguez of the Carabobeño team.

Full text of the press release:

The Board of Directors of the LVBP categorically rejects any aggression or threat of aggression that comes from any person or entity against members of the LVBP. The events that occur on the LVBP playing fields must be resolved by the LVBP and its protagonists in accordance with its Statutes and internal rules. The LVBP rejects any action that comes from third parties that seeks to resolve the LVBP's own issues.

In effect, the Code of Ethics and Discipline of the LVBP is the instrument through which the LVBP, within itself, reviews the actions of the participants in the LVBP and through which the appropriate sanctions are applied according to the established procedure. In order to ensure the good development of the game and the season, this instrument fulfills its function. In this sense, the LVBP requires its protagonists and third parties to respect these rules and to abide by what is established in them.

Baseball is a sport that awakens passions; however, it brings with it a co-responsibility between all the parties involved in seeking a healthy environment that celebrates this discipline as the most preferred in Venezuela. We call for calm, respect and tolerance, because let us remember that the LVBP is a show that is aimed at all audiences, even children who seek an opportunity for entertainment in baseball and for strengthening values such as overcoming and perseverance.

At the LVBP, we are committed to reconciliation to resolve any differences. In that sense, we will exhaust all the necessary resources to reach understandings for the benefit of Venezuelan professional baseball.
