Lara is ready to kick off the IV National Community Games, a sporting event that will bring together more than 700 local athletes and thousands of participants from all over the country.

The information was released by the director of the Office of the Government of Lara, Luis Jonás Reyes, during a press conference, in which he stated that the twilight state stands out as the second sub-headquarters with the highest number of registered athletes, hosting a wide variety of competitions in six key disciplines: water sports, skating (skateboarding and running), 3×3 basketball, 5 baseball and traditional games.

“We have been selected to be sub-headquarters in some of these cases of the National Community Games, an instance that allows the process of massification because it is a whole conglomeration of boys, girls and young people,” he said.

He also indicated that all 25 states, 335 municipalities, 1,136 parishes in the country, 5,341 communes and 23,230 communal councils will be active, that is, at the national level. “In the case of Lara, we have incorporated the 369 communes that make life in our territory and the 3,667 communal councils that are distributed in the nine municipalities of the state,” said Reyes Flores.

The schedule of activities in Lara will begin with a first advance scheduled between October 22 and 28 for water sports competitions, which will bring together more than 300 people including athletes and technical staff. Later, from October 28 to November 1, the skating phase will take place.

“We are the second venue with the highest number of athletes and, together with Carabobo, we host the largest number of disciplines. We will have 726 athletes participating in these National Community Games. Everyone is cordially invited so that they can enjoy these six disciplines that will be taking place within our state,” concluded Reyes Flores.
