Lawyer for former vice-president of Ecuador denounces attack against her representative

Sonia Vera, lawyer for former vice-president of Ecuador Jorge Glas, today reported an attempted attempt on the life of her defendant.

The citizen platform SOS Cárceles reported that Glas was evacuated because those deprived of their liberty mutinied and apparently wanted to attempt his life, under the orders of Luis Alfredo Arboleda, known as Gordo Lucho, leader of the terrorist group Los Lobos, international media reports.

Vera indicated that Glas was evacuated as an emergency from La Roca maximum-security prison in Guayaquil, which “confirms what we have reported over and over again: they are deliberately playing with their lives.”

He also warned that “if something happens to (the former vice-president), it will be a State crime”, so he urgently requested the intervention of international organizations, since his lawyer Vera insisted that his 'defendant is exposed to an environment that does not protect his life, but rather the threat day after day (...) the result of a State that has condemned him to danger, torture and slow death. '
