The Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, blamed the West on Monday for the death of dozens of civilians in the bombing carried out by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on a market in the Russian city of Donetsk, for having supplied weapons to the regime of Volodimir Zelensky.

The attack left at least 27 dead and several injured, so Russia convened an urgent meeting of the Security Council of the United Nations (UN), a space where the Russian diplomat stressed that “the key factor hindering the search for ways to peacefully resolve the Ukrainian crisis is the continued support of the West for the Kiev regime”.

“They are not at all ashamed that their weapons, including cluster munitions and depleted uranium projectiles, in a methodical, ruthless and deliberate manner,” are used against exclusively civilian targets, Lavrov said, denouncing that Ukrainian forces are indiscriminately attacking civilian infrastructure in Russia.

The head of diplomacy emphasized that “the blood of dozens of dead civilians is on the hands and conscience of those who arm the Zelensky regime and, at the same time, officially declare that the Kiev authorities themselves have the right to choose the targets for the attacks.”

In this regard, he indicated that most of the member countries of the European Union “continue to obediently carry out Washington 's orders” with regard to new arms shipments to Ukraine, emptying their own arsenals, which, “of course, will be replenished with purchases of products from the American military-industrial complex (...) Europeans will be forced to find money for this,” Lavrov highlighted, quoted by RT on his web portal.
