LAUICOM started the Media Monopoly Map workshop

The International University of Communications (LA ICOM), holds the workshop “Map of Media Monopolies”, which began with a presentation by Fernando Buen Abad, graduate in Communication Sciences and Master in Political Philosophy.

In this regard, the international rector of LAUICOM, indicated that the map is an ongoing project, which is being developed collaboratively and permanently. “It's a difficult map, because it has the challenge of making visible the structures of monopoly processes in terms of communication.”

He stressed that “this is one of the strongest threats against democracies. The McRay report says that the accelerated process of monopoly media concentration is a threat against democracies.”
