The two Timbavati white lion cubs born last June 10 can be observed by the public starting this Sunday at the Las Delicias Zoo, located in Maracay, Aragua state, after completing an assisted parenting phase and reaching an appropriate weight for their age.

The female weighs 20 kilograms and the male weighs 22 kilograms, according to the park's veterinary doctor, Pablo Gamarra, who explained that both received artificial feeding for their first three months, because the mother did not have the necessary skills to breastfeed them, according to a note from Última Noticias.

“To feed them, we used a milk substitute enriched with immunoglobulins, prebiotics and probiotics. Since they did not breastfeed the mother, they required special attention to strengthen their immune system,” said Gamarra, assuring that the specimens are in good health.

The veterinarian and the president of the Las Delicias Zoological Foundation, Vanessa Rodríguez, urged visitors to avoid loud noises, not to feed the animals and to refrain from throwing garbage or objects into the enclosure, in order to preserve the well-being of the puppies and other species in the park.

The incorporation of small cats into the exhibition is part of the zoo's activities aimed at wildlife conservation, environmental education and family recreation.
