The state of Lara exported 33,380 tons of high-quality white clay from the El Balcón and San Antonio sectors of the Curarigua parish of the Torres municipality to Castellón, Spain, the epicenter of the global ceramic industry.

During the loading operations, the governor of the state of Lara, Luis Reyes Reyes, accompanied by the Secretary of Economic Development, Tomás Elías Reyes; the President of EMCOEX, Juan Carlos Romero; and Javier Vivas, Director of the Venezuelan clay project for Spain, oversaw the process.

It should be noted that this achievement opens the way for Lara to be recognized globally as an important producer of non-metallic minerals and to position the entity as a reliable and competitive supplier in the European ceramic market.

“We are carrying this important shipment of clay, we have a lot of capacity to continue producing clay and activate this economic activity in our state,” said Reyes Reyes.

He also stressed that soon they will also be doing studies on silica. “This responds, of course, to the capacity given to us by the Constitution of the State to handle non-metallic materials, we continue to promote the productive engine as instructed by our president Delcy Rodríguez,” he explained.

In addition, the governor of Lara also asserted that this operation is the result of three years of hard work, preparation, adjustments and technical coordination.

He also stressed that the cargo has passed rigorous quality controls and technical studies to ensure that it meets the international standards required by the purchasing company in Europe and finally thanked the FANB and the Navy for their great support and active participation in the development of this first step of the binational project between Spain and Venezuela.
