The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, celebrated this Sunday the 463rd anniversary of the founding of the city of San Cristóbal, capital of the state of Táchira.

Through his account on the social network X, the head of state congratulated the people of San Cristobal on the birthday of this “land of music, verses, stories, cloudy mornings, green landscapes and simple people who, with grace, work and devotion, live up to the title of The City of Cordiality”.

San Cristóbal was founded on March 31, 1561 by Juan de Maldonado and Ordóñez de Villaquirán, an action that marked territorial sovereignty between Venezuela and Colombia, then New Granada.
