• During “La Salida”, promoted by Leopoldo López, Giovanni Pantoja, a 29-year-old petty officer of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB), was assassinated, joining the list of 43 victims caused by the opposition leader.
• At 12.30 noon, Giovanni Pantoja was shot in one of his eyes, when he and other GNB colleagues were preparing to clear the parapets of a barricade in the El Trigal housing estate in the city of Valencia, edo. Carabobo.
• The shooting was fired by a sharpshooter among a group of opposition guarimberos.
• Another officer, Darwin Canelón Roa, was shot twice in the leg. Both were admitted to the Méndez Guerra Clinic. Pantoja died at 5:29pm that same day.
• The following day, in the GNB Regional Command No. 2, military honors were given to Second Sergeant Giovanni Pantoja Hernández. From there, the funeral procession started to Maracay, escorted by the General Commander of that military component, Major General Justo Noguera Pietri and the head of that military unit General Arquimides Herrera Ruso, as well as hundreds of comrades in arms.
