The Minister of Popular Power for Fisheries and Aquaculture, Juan Carlos Loyo, led a large territorial deployment along the west coast and the central axis of the state, ratifying the commitment of the national government to the sea workers and incorporating them into the Venezuela Alimenta Plan.
“The deployment of La Guaira, a reborn region that is now part of Venezuela Alimenta, will soon bring enormous surprises in terms of fish, protein for schools and agricultural products, because to fish is to win and we will win,” emphasized the Minister.
With the Great Deployment of comprehensive care to the Councils of the Popular Power of Fishermen and Fishermen, Aquaculturists and Aquaculturists (CONPPA), the fishing sector of the state of La Guaira is consolidated as a strategic axis for the socio-productive promotion of the fishing economy and food security in the region.
During the day, we visited the towns of Chichiriviche de la Costa, Puerto Maya and Puerto Cruz, areas of important agricultural and fishing contribution, as well as the CONPPA Playa Verde and Pez Espada in the western region, and the CONPPA Camurichico in the central axis.
At these meetings, the fishermen and women made concrete proposals to strengthen the entity's food supply and generate exchange schemes aimed at addressing the vulnerabilities of the fishing infrastructure that emerged as a result of previous seismological events.
This coordination seeks to directly serve seafarers and to incorporate them as key actors in the Venezuela Alimenta Plan.
In this way, the direct distribution of seafood and fish protein to educational institutions in the region will be activated, complemented by the promotion of local agricultural production.
