A total of 110 projects related to economic transformation
were nominated in La Guaira for the National Popular Consultation on October 18
, as announced by the Minister for Tourism, Daniella Cabello,
appointed godmother of La Guaira for this day.
During a community assembly, together with Governor José Alejandro
Terán and Mayor José Manuel Suárez, Cabello highlighted the participation of
communes in defining the works and projects that will be carried out in their communities.
He also stressed that the proposals related to
economic transformation seek to reactivate the entity's productive apparatus and expressed his
expectation that several would be oriented to tourism.
“Let's hope, of course, that of those 110 projects there are many
linked to the tourism sector, which are among the first for
us to realize those dreams of communities that know and understand the
power of tourism to mobilize and give life and benefit
our community brothers,” he said.
The minister also stressed that in the consultation it is the inhabitants themselves who propose solutions for their communities. “If you are the ones who know the needs of your communes, you are the ones who propose the project that will meet the needs of your commune and you are the ones who are going to receive the funding to be able to give life and make that commune project real, is there anything more humane than that?” , he said.
In addition, Cabello called for overcoming the reconstruction phase after the damage caused by the earthquake and set the goal of recovering the entity with better conditions. “We need to rebuild better. We have to be better, make La Guaira shine again with the strongest tourism and make people in the entire country turn around and say: 'Look how La Guaira was reborn. ' And we are going to achieve that together,” he said.
The minister also reaffirmed the participation of communities in this
process and maintained that “reconstruction is together, redoing is together”,
while calling on Guaireños to participate in the day of October 18.
