More than 30,000 parishioners are expected to attend next Saturday, October 31, at the square of the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary in Chiquinquirá, in Maracaibo, when the traditional Bajada de la Chinita takes place, a religious and popular ceremony in which the relic of the patron saint of the Zulians descends from the main altar to meet her faithful.

The Basilica, regional and municipal authorities and security and prevention bodies are ready for the date, which marks the beginning of the patron saint festivities of the Virgin Mary in her dedication to the Chiquinquirá, according to the local press.

The rector pastor of the Basilica, priest Nedward Andrade, announced the installation of new organizational boxes in the square with the provision of thousands of chairs to comfortably accommodate the massive crowd estimated for this year.

In addition, maintenance, lighting and road recovery work is being carried out in the central area of Maracaibo, where four linear kilometers of roads have already ended, more than 320 luminaires are replaced, poles and electrical systems are recovered in surrounding squares and streets.
