The Venezuelan athlete Daniela García won the bronze medal in the U21 women's individual kata category during the World Youth, Cadet and Junior Karate Championships, held last weekend in the city of Bielsko-Biała, Poland.

According to information from the Ministry of People's Power for Sports, the athlete from the state of Carabobo secured her place on the world championship podium after performing a solid technical performance in the fight for third place, where she won a convincing 4-1 score against the representative of the United States, Rylee Rainone.

This triumph has an unprecedented historical value for the country's martial arts, since Venezuela had not registered a podium in a youth world championship in the women's kata category since 2001. García broke a 25-year drought without women's World Cup medals in the specialty for the country, confirming the talent and high competitive level of national karate backed by the World Karate Federation (WKF).
