The president of the Criminal Cassation Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), Judge Elsa Gómez, highlighted the importance of the Judiciary as a fundamental pillar of the State, which guarantees justice for all the people.

During her speech as keynote speaker at the Solemn Opening Session of Judicial Activities 2025, Gómez pointed out that in the Supreme Court “you can feel and breathe renewed air.”

“There is a distinctive enthusiasm of the absolute loyalty of a sovereign people who decided to be free, independent and firm in their convictions. It's time for the brave. It's time for history makers,” he said.

He stated that the Judiciary is not only a guarantor of legality, but “a promoter of the balance that allows harmonious coexistence between Public Powers within the framework of our Republic, conceived under the ideals of the Father of the Fatherland Simon Bolivar.”

The magistrate emphasized that “justice today in Venezuela is not a privilege of a few, but an inalienable right of all, as proclaimed by Liberator Simón Bolívar when he said: 'Justice is the queen of republican virtues and with it equality and freedom are upheld, '” she quoted.

In this regard, he said that the Supreme Court is not an isolated entity, it is part of this great historical block. “Let's be clear, we are a profound institution that is absolutely linked to the struggles of our people. As pointed out by Hugo Rafael Chávez Frías,” he stressed.
