JPSUV confirms support for the candidacy of President Nicolás Maduro

This Wednesday, March 20, the Secretary General of Youth of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (JPSUV), Grecia Colmenares, highlighted that the young people of the Homeland confirm their support for the candidacy of President Nicolás Maduro for the next elections on July 28.

“The president of the Venezuelan Youth, there are thousands of reasons, there are too many reasons why Venezuelan youth support and should support President Nicolás Maduro Moros,” he said at a JPSUV press conference from El Calvario in Caracas.

In that regard, he stressed that the National Executive has demonstrated, in all these years of struggle and resistance, its commitment, loyalty, kindness and humility with Venezuelan youth.

“In addition, it has demonstrated that the historical reason lies with the Bolivarian Revolution, that's why we support President Nicolás Maduro, for our historical reason, because in the blood of that man is the strength of our indigenous people, of our ancestors who resisted more than 500 years ago (...) there is the blood of an entire people that fought and that made us a free, sovereign and independent people today,” he stressed.

He emphasized that President Maduro has never left young people alone; and just as he has often summoned them to understand the history of our Homeland, he has also urged them to understand that they are guarantors of the present and future of Venezuela.

“It was a man loyal to Commander (Hugo) Chávez, Chávez, who made young people visible, Chávez, who gave prominence to youth, who invited us to be a better country and to dream about our future. This legacy of our Commander is reflected in the permanent action of the great Nicolás Maduro Moros, who has called on young people to feel protagonists, to feel part and to do everything necessary for the construction of socialism, for the construction of our country, for the construction of the Homeland Project. For this reason, we now support President Nicolás Maduro,” he stressed.

For this reason, he stressed that it is President Maduro, who today more than ever opens the way for young people to the future and who guarantees them “that they can continue studying, working and developing their lives in peace.”
