José Gregorio Hernández Plan: Works at the Concepción Palacios Maternity Hospital record 65% progress

The modernization plan for the historic Concepción Palacios Maternity Hospital in Caracas shows an increase of more than 65%. These works of the Dr. José Gregorio Hernández Plan seek to optimize the infrastructure of a healthcare center that attends about 50 daily births.

Currently, according to Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), the work crews are carrying out the complete rehabilitation of the main façade, the waterproofing of the building and the conditioning of the electrical and plumbing systems. On the other hand, the plan after seismic events recorded 75% of progress on floors 1, 2 and 3, while the shelter intended to accommodate patients from the interior of the country shows a 95% completion rate.

The project also includes the 80% renovation of the Intensive Care Unit, the delivery of 200 health modules and the expansion of delivery rooms from 3 to 13 equipped areas. At the same time, the efforts include improvements in emergencies, hospitalization and dormitories for medical personnel, actions that ultimately strengthen the National Public Health System (SPNS).
