In order to highlight the cultural values of the population, the Bolivarian Government of the Santos Michelena municipality of the state of Aragua declared the Joropo Aragüeño as Intangible Cultural Heritage of the town, as published in the Municipal Gazette No. 3,658.

According to information from Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), the jurisdiction's director of culture, Kirver Brito, said that “our objective is to exalt the Joropo Aragüeño, which is a variant of the central joropo, as a musical and dance manifestation, rooted in Las Tejerías”.

The occasion also served to recognize the musical and dance trajectory of more than 60 humps and humps in the municipality; in addition to presenting the Pharaoh and Pharaoh of the Joropo award, to local performers of this genre, which commits them to continue with the dissemination of this cultural manifestation from generation to generation.

As part of the event, the eleventh Joropo Aragüeño Gala was also held, a day in which many couples from the municipality danced to the rhythm of the harp and maracas, which highlighted the popularity of this type of music and dance in the municipality.
