The president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, rejected this Wednesday the new interventionist actions by the Spanish Senate, which tries to ignore Venezuelan institutions and the people, promoting former extreme right candidate Edmundo González Urrutia as the supposed “elected president” of the South American nation.
“We don't care what the Spanish Senate says, we know how to marry (...) it's an unspeakable aggression even with Mr. González Urrutia who is saying that he does comply” with the ruling of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), which confirms the victory of President Nicolás Maduro in the elections of last July 28, Rodríguez said at a press conference given to national and international media.
He stressed that “the European extreme right is a cancer that is undermining and ending political freedom in Europe (...) the extreme right and fascism are combined with extremism here to attack Venezuela”.
Regarding the rupture of relations with Spain, which the Parliament will request from the Venezuelan Executive, he said that the agreement will be approved in this Thursday's session.
