This Tuesday, October 20, the president of the General Staff for the Creation of Transitional Camps, Jorge Rodríguez, specified that “in 32 days we will have 700 homes and we will be building an average of approximately 200 homes per day until we manage to complete the six thousand temporary family homes.”
This was stated by Rodríguez, during the ceremony of delivery by the President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, of 500 temporary homes in Ciudad Caribia for families affected by the earthquakes.
He also pointed out that some spaces were equipped, “houses that are a little smaller. They are 36 square meters, on the top of the terraces and there will be Firefighters, the People's Guard, the Bolivarian National Police (PNB), a group of 50 maintenance janitors who will be permanently at the service of the people who are in the houses, some type of damage appears, they are already trained to deal with this type of problem”.
He said that the most important thing “as President Rodríguez said, is that community can be built, that this is not a repository for people while we are building houses.”
“For this reason, we have placed a park on each terrace, there are quite large access areas, some new baseball and soccer fields, some bike paths, new transport lines that will also serve Ciudad Caribia, a tank so that they can have water permanently. Perfectly built water pipes,” he said.
He said that “the time left here, hopefully as little time as possible, they feel that they are being taken care of by the Government.”
