During the regular session this Thursday, the president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, asserted that from the board of the parliament and the patriot caucus he rejects any type of violence.
“We are enemies of any form of violence wherever it comes from,” said Rodríguez, while expressing his solidarity with the deputy Anyelit Tamaño, who was the victim of aggression on February 3.
“Because she is a young leader of the Venezuelan democratic opposition and because when violence is used to make some kind of argument, nothing is being exercised that is not an act of profound cowardice,” she said.
In this regard, he stressed that the National Parliament will insist that acts of violence should not be repeated again.
“Throughout history, we have been victims of the aggressions of Democratic Action and COPEI and, as a result, we have the morals and the dignity to say that these types of events that occurred in the Fourth Republic are not repeated in the Bolivarian Revolution,” he said.
