Jorge Rodríguez: The one who calls elections and draws up schedules is the CNE (+proposals)

The president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, insisted
that, as established in the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of
Venezuela, the one who calls elections and draws up schedules is the National Electoral Council (CNE).
“We as citizens are going to make some proposals,
suggestions, for the electoral calendar, which will be presented to the CNE,” she said in
the framework of the National Dialogue Day to discuss the 2024 electoral schedule
.
In this regard, he explained that during the Day they will prepare a calendar proposal, “because we are the ones interested in ensuring that the election of the
year 2024 takes place peacefully, independently, providing a guarantee
for all candidates, political organizations and the
people of Venezuela who are going to choose their president or president,” he added.
He also noted that when the National Electoral Council has the date and convenes the presidential elections, it will invite national and international observation, “those who have to meet very specific requirements for the protection of independence and the sovereignty of the convened event.”
