Jorge Rodríguez will continue as vice-president of the Parliamentary Network of the Non-Aligned Movement (MNOAL) for three more years, after being unanimously ratified at the Fourth Conference of this organization, held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

The members of the Parliamentary Network agreed to extend the term of office of their current leaders to ensure continuity in institutional leadership.

This new term reaffirms the presidency of Sahiba Gafarova, leader of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan, together with the vice-presidency of Rodríguez and other representatives such as Fouzi Altahir Rahumah Salim, from Libya, and Ali Faysal, from Palestine.

The measure seeks to consolidate cooperation between the parliaments of non-aligned countries, strengthen multilateral dialogue and ensure the development of the institutional framework of the Network. In addition, this organization is based on the principles of the MNOAL and the UN Charter, with bodies such as the Conference, the Bureau and the Standing Committees in various areas.

The Venezuelan representation at the event was in charge of América Pérez, second vice-president of the Legislative Branch, together with deputies Orlando Camacho and Roy Daza, according to a press release from the National Assembly (AN)
