In Venezuela, it is essential that there be a Law of Coexistence that allows the construction of meeting spaces to continue advancing the process of reconciliation and democratic strengthening in which progress has been made, said the president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez.
This was stated in a post on his Telegram channel where he shared a video with an excerpt of his words before the National Assembly during the plenary session this Tuesday where the proposal for the Partial Reform of the Law against Hate was discussed.
“I wish we didn't need a law of coexistence, but we do need it, it's essential. I believe that at this stage of the historical life of Venezuela we are in the presence of a Bourbon right, which does not forget, that does not learn, that persists in arrogance, that persists in confrontation, in confrontation,” Rodríguez highlighted in the aforementioned speech, in which, in addition, he stressed that the call for dialogue has been the method that the Revolutionary Government has used the most to curb expressions of hate on the right.
In addition, the parliamentarian questioned the opposition factions about their position with regard to the hatred that they have tried to establish in the country, at the same time that there will be times when a Law of Coexistence would not be necessary: “Hate, unfortunately, cannot be repealed and it is not contained, because they start publishing tweets and end up burning people alive, they start giving their opinion in a distemperate way and then they end up ignoring the human condition of the adversary”.
