In 2024, in the country, the presidential elections contemplated in our constitution will be held, contrary to the biased information released by the extreme right who accused the Executive of trying to prevent the elections from taking place.
This was reported by the president of the National Assembly (AN), deputy Jorge Rodríguez, who assured that in the last 25 years, Venezuela has never shied away from the constitutional obligation to convene electoral events.
In this regard, he stressed that during an extensive day of national dialogue between the revolutionary forces and the opposition, a joint document was developed with a series of proposed dates for the holding of the presidential elections of 2024.
“The National Electoral Council (CNE) is the only public authority capable of convening electoral events, so we have decided to submit a document that incorporates all the dates proposed by all the factors that participated in this round of dialogue (...) this time we are going to bring (to the CNE) a basic document that will allow us to continue making progress on proposals and agreements,” Rodríguez said.
In the same way, he emphasized that the delivery of this document to the CNE constitutes an invitation to all participants in this day of dialogue to continue discussions on various issues of national interest.
