The president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, stressed that in order to protect the peace of the Republic and without violating the rights of others, “we have to support our position.”

In that sense, he stated that “there is a second document that I have in my custody; if they continue to violate the truth, we will have no choice but to show it”.

“What we're showing is what there is, that's what happened,” he said at a press conference.

In this regard, he commented that the international media on the right: ABC, CNN, Reuters, the BBC and Caracol, among others, have lied many times about the events taking place in Venezuela, as an example he mentioned “the drone attack on August 4, 2018, they said it was a self-attack until a month later CNN came out and published all the evidence of the assassination attempt”.

“Hopefully ever, at least they'll give us the benefit of the doubt,” he said.

He ratified that for the signing of the agreement signed between the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and Mr. González Urrutia, the talks were conducted by the Venezuelan authorities, and at no time did former Spanish President José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero participate.

“Hopefully former President Zapatero shows what Julio Borges wrote to his WhatsApp or what every time that different representatives of the Venezuelan opposition, I reserve their names, because they are not on my phone, they have written to former President Zapatero to ask him for a favor”,

On the other hand, he stressed that the position of the former president of Spain, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, has always been “to promote peace, harmony, dialogue and democracy in Venezuela.”
