The National Assembly (AN) will declare, in its next regular session, next Tuesday, people not grateful to a group of former Latin American presidents, who have assured that they will come to the country to support actions of the extreme right, said the president of the Legislative Branch, Jorge Rodríguez.
During the installation of the 2025-2026 legislative period, he pointed out that if these former leaders, “repudiated by their Peoples”, attempt to enter Venezuela without proper authorization, they will be taken as invaders and treated as such.
“Venezuela is respected. We are respectful of the sovereignty of other countries and that is why we would be unable to enter another nation without proper authorization, so we will not allow the entry of these despicable characters,” said Rodríguez.
Rodríguez also assured that if the former presidential candidate, Edmundo González, tries to enter the country illegally, the Legislative Branch will ask the Public Ministry to arrest him immediately.
“We are going to ask that he be arrested for violating the Simon Bolivar Law, for money laundering, for treason to the Fatherland,” he emphasized.
