What was signed in Barbados is part of a dialogue but in no way replaces or can undermine what is established within the constitution and laws, said the representative of the Government in the peace talks with the opposition sectors, Jorge Rodríguez.

In this regard, during a press conference held this Monday, he indicated that with the installation of a commission to verify compliance with the agreements signed in Barbados, a process of “reviving dialogue” is taking place.

“In that verification committee we are going to present everything we have, the things that have been shown in the media and some things that have not yet been shown. First we are going to revive them and then we continue with the planned agenda,” he said.

He also stressed that, in accordance with what is stated in our constitution, in 2024, the presidential elections scheduled for this date will be held.
