The president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, called on all pre-electoral candidates, political parties and sectors of civil society to attend the parliament, next Monday, February 5, to advance the construction of an electoral schedule for the presidential elections of 2024.

“They are all scheduled for next Monday afternoon. Pre-candidates and pre-candidates come, all the representatives of the business chambers, civil society, workers, universities, school teachers come, and before the end of next week we will draw up an electoral schedule and tell the Americans: “Kirby put in your ultimatum wherever you fit, here is a decent, decent and democratic people,” Rodríguez said during the plenary of the parliament.

In this regard, he stressed that with this call, it is left to the organized People's Power to select the date on which the presidential elections scheduled for 2024 will be held. “There they (the far right) if they want to register or not, that's not our problem,” he said.

He also indicated that this convening of parliament is similar to the one that occurred during the referendum on the Essequibo, it is a consensus in which all Venezuelans will demonstrate against the sanctions and threats of imperialism.

“By April 19, those who are disabled will continue to be disabled. This is a general consensus that all Venezuelans want to go and vote and will respect the election results. It is a general consensus that in this country, more than ever, foreign nations will make decisions about our internal affairs,” he said.
