On February 4, 1992, the Venezuelan people woke up, hand in hand with the burning flame of Commander Hugo Chávez Frías, to defend the Homeland of those who wanted to appropriate our wealth, said the fighter of this civic-military feat, M/G Jesús Mantilla Oliveros.
In this regard, during the commemoration of the 33rd anniversary of 4-F from the Mountain Barracks, he stressed that the fact that the Supreme Commander, in his brief message to the country, assumed responsibility for that revolt made the community respect him and took him years later to the presidency of the Republic.
He also stressed that after the coming to power of Chávez, a series of social transformations began in favor of the People. In addition, there were changes so that Venezuela, for the first time, would have a sovereign foreign policy, without US protection.
“I create a new multilateral relationship with regional organizations such as UNASUR, CELAC, ALBA, PETROCARIBE, firmly confronting the OAS as an instrument of the empire to subdue the Peoples of America who did not follow its script,” he stressed.
In this regard, he indicated that President Chávez embodied the Bolivarian flame that caused a change in global geopolitics and made nations with international weight join the fight for a more just world.
“We can say that Hugo Chávez Frías embodied that Bolivarian flame to that indomitable spirit, that sacred fire that sent the FTAA to hell and served as a trigger for other countries in the world to accelerate the mechanisms to build a more humane world,” he stressed.
In this regard, Mantilla assured that the People and the 4-F fighters are still fighting to defend the Homeland, democracy and President Nicolás Maduro.
“We will continue on the front line of battle as militiamen, as soldiers, as men of the people,” he emphasized.
